Frequently Asked Questions

Are the effects safe for indoor use? +

Yes. Cold sparks, dry ice, and CO2 cannons are all specifically designed and approved for indoor use. Our technicians conduct a full safety assessment of your venue before any effects are used.

Will effects trigger fire alarms? +

Cold sparks produce no smoke and do not trigger smoke detectors. Dry ice produces a low-lying fog that generally stays below detector height. However, we always notify venue managers and check detector locations during our assessment.

Does the venue need to approve effects? +

Yes. Most venues require prior approval for special effects. We've worked with venues across Melbourne and can help facilitate the approval process if needed.

How long do effects last? +

Effect duration depends on the type. Cold spark machines typically run for 30–60 second bursts. Dry ice effects last 2–5 minutes per charge. CO2 cannons are instantaneous. We can programme multiple activations throughout your event.

What are the setup requirements? +

Requirements vary by effect. Cold spark machines need a power point and approximately 1m x 1m of floor space each. We'll confirm all requirements during your consultation.

Can effects be used at outdoor ceremonies? +

Some effects like confetti cannons and cold sparks work outdoors. Dry ice and haze effects are better suited to indoor or covered spaces due to wind. We'll advise based on your specific venue.
